Our Custom Roll Forming Process

It All Starts With A Drawing…

Whether it is an existing roll formed part, an existing part that might be a good candidate for roll forming, or a brand-new part for a brand-new application, send us your drawing! With some additional information, such as annual usage and the application of the part, our experienced engineering team will review and analyze your drawing, taking into account other relevant information you provide to us.

Dialogue and Cooperation

Once our engineering team has reviewed the information provided to us, we will then start a dialogue about your part and its application. What are the critical dimensions? What is the purpose of this feature? By determining and discussing the purpose of the various design features and tolerances of your part, as well as our capabilities, Cardinal can often suggest modifications that would make your part more feasible or more cost effective to produce. Sometimes a few more thousandths of an inch of tolerance on a less critical feature can be the difference between performing that operation in-line and adding a more costly secondary operation.

Cardinal’s Custom Mentality

We understand that producing quality parts are only one aspect of our customers’ needs, and our dialogue does not stop there. We will determine your needs and work to establish specifications for packaging, stocking, lead time, and anything else you may require. “Custom” does not stop at Roll Forming.

Ready, Set, Quote

After we have determined a part drawing, purchasing system, packaging, etc., Cardinal will provide you a quote for both the part and the tooling, which is designed by our experienced engineering team and produced completely in-house in our full-service tool and die department.
